    Missing Player

Hey Guys, I was wondering what the policy would be if one of my team members was unable to attend a session. Would we play the same matches 4v5, and play at a handicap, or would we be unable to compete?

you will still be allowed to play but once you accept a match its final, you will have to play a man down, for example yesterday in bf2 my team had 3 guys and so we played 6v3. Its only preseason but it gives you the memo.

    good luck in your ladder

Which game? How would the other team know someone is missing if someone else 'stepped' in?

    Re: Missing Player

ok here is another example. say bf2 6v6 right, how you get a match is through irc so lets say,  MATCH 1 Team A vs Team B

Team A is MEC, Team B is US

Usually the admin of the league will say if a team is down a player, now in the past they really did not crack down on non registered players but if they fill in, you really cant tell, but i mean the only illegal thing from a substitute is if there playing from somewhere other then the lan center. It is rare to have exact same ping(latency), as the lan center all throughout the match, so it would be noticeable in game and that could cause a disqualification. I mean playing a 1-3 guys down has happened. Just Tuesday Night for bf2 preseason, my team played down 3 guys.. you know but its preseason, we take the ladder seriously, but not enough to get away from just having fun.

I assure you during the season you will see the same guys from a specific team there for like the first half of season and then a few different guys here and there that are not on the roster. Things come up, people have lives to live. But hey nothing really has happened bad enough for someone to complain. My advice, dont worry about any other team then yours, Thats the most important. As long as you play together as a team doesnt matter how many they got, you can win.

And I believe ScubaSteven is referring to CS:S 5v5 Ladder. Which is the same case.

    Re: Missing Player

It is very easy to verify IPs if admins are watching, so remote players are definitely out of the question.  But if a spare player is at your center, in the past this wasn't an issue. (at least when I helped admin CoD ladders / leagues.)

I'm no longer an official ladder admin so all I can give is my opinon based on past experience.
