Is $7500 base on 8 teams playing from 8 lan centers?  Or is that a guaranteed  cash prize?

The prizes are regardless of how ever many teams show up (there actually is a cap of 8 teams per center).

 

Alienware pays for the prizes for the tournament.

alright cool...so do we have to pay to use the computers @ the lan center also?

also what if you dont get your 64 teams...what are you going to do with the left over cash?  Are you going to divide the cash prizes again?

The time on the systems is included in the entry fee to the event.

 

All you have to do is pay the fee to enter the tournament the centers are not allowed to charge you for the pc time during the tournament.

 

As for the prizes there are only prizes for places 1-8 as well as 2nd place at each lan. So if less teams show up there is no problem, simply the center that did not have as many teams took in less entry fees and thus was compensated less for the use of their facilities.

Alright I have another question also...do we have to prepay for the event or pay @ the lan center?

Since there is a limit of 8 teams per center the first 8 to prepay get in. If there are still spots left at the center you want to attend the day of then most likely they will accept a same day at the store entry.
