Solving this problem is easy, have a NON-biased Representative/admin in all of the participating LAN centers. If this is not feasible then have NON-biased Representatives/admins spectating the match. The spectating admin should not be required for all matches but by team request. The team that has suspicions of a player/team can contact an admin via pm on irc and request the admin to spectate this match, obviously the admin assigned to the match should be required to exit from and Instant messagers such as Xfire, MSN, AIM, or Yahoo, or any I missed...

None of that is really feasible at all.  We're not talking a $100,000 tournament here with $100/person entry fees.  This is a generally light hearted affair (like azzonie said/wants) run by volunteers.  If GCOs can't keep their players in check (both as sportsman and cheaters) is easier just to not invite/allow them back.  In the 5 years i have been a part of this, there is always a dustup or 2, adding a ton of rules and admins just to give regular gamers at lan centers a fun way to get some good natured competition going is not the direction i want nor recommend.

    Re: Cod4 Ladder

Ok from what I can make of it, $1,500 is the ammount they are distributing between the winning teams. If you read the news/ranking section, It says "Teams ranked 1st through 4th after this week will automatically advance to Tier 1 Playoffs, with the opportunity to win big cash prizes.
Teams ranked 5th through 12th after this week will play in a Playoff Qualifier next week. The top 4 performing teams in the Playoff Qualifier will advance to Tier 1 Playoffs (for cash prizes). The bottom 4 performing teams in the Playoff Qualifier will advance to Tier 2 Playoffs (just for fun)." Then if you look at the prizes section and it says,

"Final Placement in Tier 1 Playoffs*

    1st Place - $500.00 (Team Total)
    2nd - $250.00
    3rd - $200.00
    4th - $150.00
    5th - $125.00
    6th - $125.00
    7th - $75.00
    8th - $75.00"

The $1,500 will be split between all the winning teams. Pretty easy to figure this out...

And as for the rest of my team being "scrubs" (most retarded gaming lingo I've ever heard), I know they aren't up to par with my brother and I. And both my brother and I were on a CAL team but sadly we had two ban evaders and we all decided it was to risky for the non-ban evading members of the team to stay. So the team died and now I'm waiting to upgrade my home PC before I play CAL again. If I could I'd try to have at least two of my previous teammates come down to Texas and play but I just don't see that happening, so I have to make do with my brother and 1-2 other decent enough players on the team and the very little stratting we have done.

Ok thank you for clearing that up, but I believe it should still be possible to have admins spectating the playoff matches at least.

    That might be more doable.

    Re: Cod4 Ladder

I am just going to say it again. While I am an admin for the COD4 ladder I am not responsible for the top 16 ranked teams. I would not and do not handle disputes over teams from my own center. They would instantly go to Wayne Ferguson (one of my two direct bosses).

As for cheating in this ladder there have not been any disputes found to involve a team that was actually cheating. The only incidents were where we caught a team using an illegal directx cheat but the opposing team still beat them (cheaters don't always win). That team is not in the topic bracket so was not noteable to be posted about.

We do not spectate matches under normal circumstances. Demos and Screenshots/Logs are the proper ways for disputes.

As for ruleset we use the CEVO ruleset which will be updated before the next season starts on all 40 of the servers.

If you have any problems beyond this you can take it up with myself by an email to eventsadmin@igames.org

and or Wayne Ferguson at Wayne@igames.org

    Re: Cod4 Ladder

it would be very appreciated if you guys were to add the no sway mod on weapons to the servers and the sniper fix as as well. i'm not sure if CEVO has approved of these in their league but i'm sure CAL has. like my brother stated before go do a little research on the gun sway/sniper sway problem. from what i understand IW is patching the current sway bug in the next patch but nobody will really know until the patch comes out. while we are waiting for them to patch the left over bugs in the game it would be very nice if you guys were to add the no sway mod/sniper fix mods to your servers.

    Re: Cod4 Ladder

actually they didn't fix the whole problem. on top of the scope being quite innaccurate it also had a sway problem and it still does. just because you're putting your crosshair on a person doesn't always mean it's going directly there. that is because any weapon with sway in cod4 is bugged. as the gun sways in the ironsight/scope the bullets client side seem to be going in the direction of the direction the gun is swaying. but serverside the bullets go directly in the middle of the screen no matter where the ironsight is aimed. to fix the scope the command player_breathe_hold_lerp 1 needs to be at 4 instead of 1 and the scope stops swaying when you hold your breathe like it did in cod2.

    Re: Cod4 Ladder

you can't sit there and tell me you haven't had a scope shot directly on someone and it miss completely. it has happened to me plenty of times. maybe you just aren't a good enough scope to notice. i'm not trying to say you're bad it's just that's how it seems. some of the best scopers in the game all agree with me on this issue. now there's two files that would need to be put onto the servers. one that gets rid of the sway for all the weapons except for the scope and the file that allows you to change the player_breathe_hold_lerp command to 4 instead of 1 which makes the scope stop moving when you hold your breathe. if you haven't noticed when you hold your breathe with the scope it doesn't stop moving completely until about the 3-4 heartbeat when the breathe runs out anyway, obviously making the scope more difficult to use than it should be. this command doesn't overpower the scope considering no scoping isn't going to happen very often nor is it as nearly easy to use as the cod2 scope. it just makes playing the game a little less frustrating. easier? maybe. better for competition? yes. until iw fixes the sway bug in their game these mods/fixes should be approved.

Any idea when the main page is going to be updated with the latest info?

    Re: Cod4 Ladder

Well when I actually did scope before they even fixed it, I was up there with the best at it. mainly because of my ability on reaction time.  But it doesn't matter, I understand your point Doomz, sure it would be nice if it was fixed, but its still easy to use. snap shooting is 100% on, regardless of sway. You just gotta be good enough with your timing and reaction to do it instantly.
