New Xbox 360 titles! Vampire Rain & Project Sylpheed

Coming to a center near you!

Vampire Rain Showcase: July 23 – August 5
Project Sylpheed Showcase: July 30 – August 12

    About the Games:
Vampire Rain, an action game for 1-8 players, takes place in a city in suburban Los Angeles, where vampires have been determined to reside. Players take control of a special operative called John Lloyd and, having entered the city, must wipe out the vampires. The player must then traverse all areas of an eerie and rain soaked city by moving across rooftops and through back alleys, avoiding detection to ensure the best strategic use of high-tech weaponry. This game is rated M.

Check out the official site at: Vampire Rain

Project Sylpheed, a single player shooter, is reminiscent of summer days spent hunched-over a coin-op machine in a dark arcade. Project Sylpheed is a 3-D makeover of the classic, mid-‘80s scrolling shooter franchise. As Katana Faraway, players must pilot a Delta Saber space fighter equipped with a highly customizable arsenal of weapons. In order to succeed, Katana must execute squadron commands and monitor their speed, shield, radar and weapons as they maneuver out of challenging situations and defend Earth against the evil ADAN forces. This game is rated T.

I'm afraid we were only able to get enough copies to open both events up to 30 centers.  Sad As you can imagine, it filled up VERY quickly.

It would be nice to be able to get a feed from iGames of one of the centers to show on monitors in other centers. I plan on having several monitors around my GC showing Gameplay network (Dish Network), trailers, iGames DVD's, concerts, whatever might interest the customers and cause them to spend more time on the computers or in the GC. Ig they stay in the GC, at least they will eat and drink while they are there.

I don't yet know what all would be involved in providing a feed of an ongoing tourney or showcase, but it is an interesting idea.

I had felt bad that I missed out on this premiere.  But, now that I have bought a copy of Vampire rain....... no one has liked it so far.

If any of you don't have it, I'd recommend "The Darkness" and "Overlord", my staff loves the darkness, and love Overlord.  It's a lot of fun, with some good humor in it.

The inital response to Vampire Rain was rather negative here.  But our showcase room makes a very comfitable way for people to approach new games that they know nothing about.  It has produced several people who have become hooked.  I am quite confident that the showcase would have been a total failure w/o our showcase room.

This was almost comical today.  Our local paper was out doing a photo shoot of our place today and out of all the games they decided to take a picture of was Project Sypheed (they took other pics of games, but this one was not of players, but specifically the game screen).  While it is an entertaining game, it is probably the worst game at our center.

I just got a kick out of it.  Our showcase room has 5 systems setup in it, and Project Sypheed happens to be on the new 50" DLP in that room (yes I know the showcase has not begun yet =P).  He loved the intro graphics so much he decided to get some pics of it.  Ironic....at least I thought so.
