ok here is another example. say bf2 6v6 right, how you get a match is through irc so lets say, MATCH 1 Team A vs Team B
Team A is MEC, Team B is US
Usually the admin of the league will say if a team is down a player, now in the past they really did not crack down on non registered players but if they fill in, you really cant tell, but i mean the only illegal thing from a substitute is if there playing from somewhere other then the lan center. It is rare to have exact same ping(latency), as the lan center all throughout the match, so it would be noticeable in game and that could cause a disqualification. I mean playing a 1-3 guys down has happened. Just Tuesday Night for bf2 preseason, my team played down 3 guys.. you know but its preseason, we take the ladder seriously, but not enough to get away from just having fun.
I assure you during the season you will see the same guys from a specific team there for like the first half of season and then a few different guys here and there that are not on the roster. Things come up, people have lives to live. But hey nothing really has happened bad enough for someone to complain. My advice, dont worry about any other team then yours, Thats the most important. As long as you play together as a team doesnt matter how many they got, you can win.
And I believe ScubaSteven is referring to CS:S 5v5 Ladder. Which is the same case.
