Re: Xtreme Quest Supreme Commander Presented by Intel - Game Night / Ladder

I have a question about the MOD night.

It says that we will be using art of defence V5, but yet at the same time, when you type in the keywords that are instructed, art of defence V5. is not there, its a different map...

    someone help me here...

Re: Xtreme Quest Supreme Commander Presented by Intel - Game Night / Ladder

I saw that too. I sent an email to Wayne, no response yet. I typed in "defence compilation" and found one that said Art of Defence - Compilation, which Wayne alluded to in the email, so I downloaded that. I don't know if that's the correct one, but it's...

interesting. It's at least enough to practice with until we find the correct one, I think.

Well (keyword map) is almost impossible to play on, they attack you in like 1 min, and u hardly have like 2 point defences up and if u build a factory instead, you hardly have 5 units out befor u get attacked by like 30 guys.

i havnt played on the Vesion5 map yet, but i will tomorrow to see if you can last longer than 12 mins in all befor they got gunships and everything else u can imagin on u.

The standings are currently updated. I will ensure that the results are posted Friday from now on so that you don't have to wait the entire weekend in anticipation.

The featured mod for Mod Night is Supreme Art of Defence v5. If you follow the instructions on the Mini-Site you should get to it. When in The Vault search for maps according to keywords: defence compilation

Did you sort the standings by an alternate column? It can be sorted when you click on the header of each column.

I've got a chance to play the map earlier today and its pretty fun. They give you the land factory and all the energy you need to start...then you focus on the turrets...

Lasted until the 8th wave. Insane!

Re: Xtreme Quest Supreme Commander Presented by Intel - Game Night / Ladder

yeah, I'm on the same map as PalmOne, all I have is the CO and the building. I've lasted 'till round six so far.

edit: in the setup screen, mine says version 1. How do you get version 5? I went back to the Vault and had it check for updates, it said Defence Compilation was up to date. Version date is 7/7/2007

Re: Xtreme Quest Supreme Commander Presented by Intel - Game Night / Ladder

Ok well there is no V5 of the compilation map, but i think that if we are going to be using it for the mod night, most ppl wont get to even wave 8, its nearly impossible.

are we sure we don't want to use a different map? (one that ppl can accually get past wave 4-6)

Re: Xtreme Quest Supreme Commander Presented by Intel - Game Night / Ladder

I am so sorry for the confusion.

The map is Supreme Art of Defence - Compilation (v1). The compilation is the re-bundled release of Version 5. You all have the correct one, I am sorry for the confusion over the version number. I have updated the mini-site to remove the reference to Version 5.

It is definitely challenging. I think it is good to have a hard mod than too easy, otherwise players won't have the opportunity for multiple tries. Also if a mod takes too long, some players might go on the entire 3 hours we have allocated.

Re: Xtreme Quest Supreme Commander Presented by Intel - Game Night / Ladder

Ok, I was wondering why I was matched up with against 5 new players, and one experienced player on sludge.  I won 5 and lost one, but only gained about 100 pts, and that lowered me from rank 6 to rank 9,  Is there a way we can request to play ppl in high ranks only?
