    Winter ladders

Just wandering if  there will be any good ladders starting January. Are we still going to have BF2 ladder, any RTS ladders? I've heard about possibly having DOTa ladder(Warcraft3 mod), any information on that?

    Re: Winter ladders

Our tentative plan for January 2008 is to host Game Nights for: Counter-Strike Source, Halo 3, and Call of Duty 4 (PC).

Other possibilities are Battlefield 2, Crysis, and DotA.

It all depends on sponsorship opportunities and the popularity of the games.

We will not know for certain until later in December.

    Re: Winter ladders

Thanks Wayne! Just wandering since it has been determined we will have COD4 ladder, we have a lot of people asking about if servers will have stats or not. We, like most of gaming centers here, have a problems with stats being reset(or if they are not being reset getting "CD-Key is use" message). Can we have those servers tuned up so everyone starts from scratch on them to make it fear  for everybody.

Also, what's the status on DOTa ladder? Are you still looking for sponsors for it? In Europe Asus and Intel usually sponsor DOTa tournaments, I don't know if they'd be willing to work with igames on this ladder though..

    Re: Winter ladders

We will definitely setup Call of Duty 4 matches so that play is fair and even.

As for DotA, our primary constraint is licensing and approval from Blizzard. Mark is still working on it.

    Re: Winter ladders

I would really like to see crysis with the mode powerstruggle. (I think it would make a good ladder)

Also, it would be cool to get ETQW in the spring ladders too :D

Yeah I'd be all for QWET ladder. Somehow this game ONLY gets play in our store when there's ladder going on for it, it is very competitive.

BF2 ladder here is kind of warned out for us unless rules of battles will change(amount of player on team, vehicles use).

Also if there's another SupCom ladder(Forged Alliance etc) we would for sure have more players for it this time.

    Re: Winter ladders

Has anyone figured out how to have cod team play without using unlocked weapons? The only way we have been able to do it is force everyone to create new profiles before the game begins, but that might be hard to enforce over the internet.

Also, how about having bf2 game night on mondays? Even if we don't get a sponsor, it would still be fun to play. We have a team ready to go.

    Re: Winter ladders

So has the decision been made to scrap the monday night bf2 ladder? Personally I think we should have it even without a sponsor or big prizes since customers still enjoy the competitive aspect of it.

    Re: Winter ladders

Participation in the Battlefield 2 Game Night dropped quite low, particularly after the release of new games with similar style of play. We have hard costs to account for in putting together the Game Night programs, so we are going with what's very popular, and what gets sponsored.

    Re: Winter ladders

Just wondering if anything has been said about the possible upcoming Halo 3 Ladder.  I've seen signs up at my LAN saying that there is one coming in January but don't see anywhere to register at.

The last one was really fun and extremely well run so I'm really hoping there is another one.

    Re: Winter ladders

So is halo game night on thursdays or mondays? I thought it was moved to thursdays, but the igames front page has promos and graphics splashed all over it advertising a monday night ladder.

I'm still also waiting to hear back if bf2 ladder will be happening or not.

Would it be possible for you guys to create a single page for ladder info that has each ladder and the days of the week etc? that would be great.

    Re: Winter ladders

    Halo3 is on Thursdays.

Battlefield 2 is still one of the most played games here. Out of similar games there's only Quake Wars which only get played during ladders, mostly because accounts are tied to CD-keys and most of our members don't bother asking staff to enter username and password for the game, so they just start the game that is not asking for it.

We will absolutely have team if format will be changed towards more players per team (yes, I do discuss every showcase with every interested member here)  - at least 8 guys per team. I understand that prizes will be lower per person in this case since it's more people sharing. And about %30 of those who'd be in ladder were asking for vehicles to be allowed in ladder. Probably nobody would wanna do a ladder with no prizes - players need some incentive, at least store credit.

Biggest thing here is about DOTa ladder though -  we would have at least 2 teams (but most likely 3-4). For Halo3 we will come up with one team most likely.

If there's SupCom FA ladder we have 6 committed players for it already. And nobody at this center cares about Crysis (unless they come up with big prizes). It gets a lot of SP play, but no one plays MP mode.

    Re: Winter ladders

We will be holding another Halo 3 Game Night starting in the next few weeks. Player registration will open on iGames.org/Halo3GameNight on Friday, January 11th. The site will be updated with information by then.

The Halo 3 Game Night will start being on Thursdays, instead of Mondays.

    Re: Winter ladders

A few centers are closed on Mondays, so we moved it to Thursday. None of the Centers objected to the change.

Unfortunately a schedule conflict is bound to occur with some people, however we feel that Thursday is the best choice overall.
