H3 Ladder Playoff question (iGames staff)

I play with Team Existence our team just won the winners bracket in the Halo 3 Ladder.  Next week we'll be playing the winner of the losers bracket obviously and I had a few questions we have been curious about.  The playoffs are double elimination, and my first question is if we happen to lose our 3 games series in the championship match, we should then play another best of 3 games correct?  Seeming we have not lost a game, and its double elimination, this is what would happen in most cases and Id like to confirm it.  Also, being the winners bracket champions, we should also be the host of the game, as this is a big advantage.  Our last question is not as important at the moment as the playoffs are still underway but we were curious on how the money is handed out to the top 8 teams.  Thanks for your time.

I believe the answer to your first question is as follows -

You have to lose twice as winner's bracket winner to the loser's bracket winner to be eliminated.  The loser's bracket winner can only lose once before they are eliminated.  Confused yet? Hehe...

If each match is best of three, then you only have to win one set of three to win it all.  The other team would have to beat you twice.  At least that's generally how it works.  I'm not an admin, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night!

    Eornom has got it right.

In Double-Elimination a team needs to lose twice (in this case lose two sets) in order to be eliminated. As the Upper Bracket team you'll have no existing losses. The Lower Bracket team will have one loss already.

Thanks for clearing that up for me I appreciate the responses.  Thats what I thought it would be, but I wanted to double check to make sure it wasnt different for the championship match.  Thank you.

Just wondering is there any way the quarter two ladder could be MLG v4 settings i know alot of the kids, on the ladder play on x-boxs live and play MLG settings. So I was woundering instead of having to make a new gametype why not play MLG Settings (major league gaming) settings so it harder to win. Ex.  MLG v4 Pit Slayer. 4 Power ups  2 Snipers, Overshield and Rockets.. I Think These Settings Are Better Than The Settings We Played In Quarter 1 ladder

    It's a consideration.

A lot of players also do not use MLG settings and if we moved to MLG it would require everyone to download those game types.

Anyone else care to put in their thoughts?

Just a Comment but I think with the last halo update Microsoft included the MLG GameTypes.

Just to let you know they are in the game already. Under community MLG.

I think MLG settings are a good idea.

I like the idea. For us personally practice is usually on Xbox Live and if we could go into the MLG Playlist like we do now, and know that those will be the same gametypes that we'll be playing in the ladder, that would help alot. Because I personally am not a big fan of Scrimmaging, so this would be a great idea I think.
