Sry for the cussing, but I just felt the need to defend myself.  But flat out every game we have played win or lose, we have still said gg and taken the loss even tho we might disagree with the two cause of pings we still took the loss cause there is nothing we can do about it.

 

 And if you really want to watch the games or something. I will talk to a buddy of mine at E-Rev, and see if he wants to Shoutcast the Playsoff's
 

Yes on the behalf of Team DAWGS I also want to apologize to iGames as well as Gigabits LAN Center (who we are representing in this ladder).  My choice of words may have not been the best, but if there is one thing I can't stand are sore losers as well as being called a cheater.  I will leave it at that.  I will go ahead and edit my posts and remove any offending words.

TO whom ever said about other admins having teams, im not just calling out dawgs but everyone for that matter, like i said we lost and true the admin for our tier is not them and has "nothing" to do with our tier however that rule should apply to all brackets and centers.  Admins shouldnt be affiliated with the ladder what so ever with another team.  Now it may seem I'm directing this towards dawgs but thats the only one i know of, it may be true that others are included in this address, im saying next ladder get independent admins to watch and oversee.  ALSO i do like the idea of having one admin in each room for playoffs, and id like to see that recording too :D It is a good perspective and it usually has some good opposing shots that most teams wouldnt normally see.

I was an admin/player for Clan Impact throughout the Call of Duty 2 ladders. We did well. Very well infact. I only stopped volunteering as admin due to time constraints.  As long as the admins police themselves (in which this organization does rather well), there really is nothing wrong with that.  If I knew a ladder had a problem with admins abusing their rights as admins, I sure as heck would never endorse or participate in that ladder. 

As a LAN center operator, I always felt that my position as admin was leveraged by my center's participation in iGames as a whole.  Same thing goes with anyone caught cheating at my center.  I simply don't allow it.  My players reflect Impact Gaming Center when they play for Clan Impact.

Why would I risk allowing such activities to ruin / tarnish my beloved LAN centers name and standing in the LAN center community?  ...not to mention the incredible loss of losing the ability to use the vast resources iGames has to offer by getting my center kicked out for something so petty.

Sometimes you kids need to look at the big picture and understand that a lot more is at stake than most of you are aware of.

Quick little statement, Recording (Demos) can be done by /record in your console (Hit the ~ "Tilda" key next to your 1.)

But what I really want to say is, if you're an admin in a league like TWL (Team Warfare League), you are more than likely an idiot and call almost every shot of a supposed cheater, blatant. I can't count how many times I've been asked for my demo and then people watch it without realizing comms from teammates or just overall awareness that the player has of the situation and calling the shot blatant.

With that being said unexperienced and obviously corrupt (IM NOT POINTING FINGERS) admins should not be involed with any anti-cheat work for this league. Solving this problem is easy, have a NON-biased Representative/admin in all of the participating LAN centers. If this is not feasible then have NON-biased Representatives/admins spectating the match. The spectating admin should not be required for all matches but by team request. The team that has suspicions of a player/team can contact an admin via pm on irc and request the admin to spectate this match, obviously the admin assigned to the match should be required to exit from and Instant messagers such as Xfire, MSN, AIM, or Yahoo, or any I missed... 

The admin will obviously keep his eye on the suspected player/players. Also since iGames is already using cal rule sets, they may need to update their PB configs and Competition Mod's as well. PAM is not 4.01 with drastic changes and also cal has approved the No sway mod which fixes the sway glitch. If you are unaware of this glitch goto the calforums and do research on it, I believe there are a couple youtube videos with talk about it, but I'm not sure which ones really demonstrate the actual glitch it self and fully explain the problem with it.

 

But back to the admin thing, it should be fairly simple to stop this supposed cheating. I was watching the irc last night in fact and apparently a center was actually caught cheating, as for who it was, they wouldn't say. I believe they were caught by possible PBSS (PunkBuster ScreenShot (If you don't know what a pbss is do some research, its an anti-cheat system built into pb) but again igames admins did not release and info on the subject other than a center was caught.

Germansniper, are you a center owner? It is up to us, the game center owners to provide an atmosphere of sportsmanship and fairness. If you think our center is not fair I invite you to visit us on a game night and see for yourself.

Next ladder, volunteer your time and become an admin and you will see the level of professionalism that is put into this. It will clear all your doubts.

This thread has reminded me of why I no longer have these types of events at my LAN center.  It simply takes the "fun" out of gaming as excuses are made and cheating acusations fly, equipment malfuctions blamed.  I am so glad to be rid of that headache, the pissing matches and the "pros" who are just pro complainers. 

Now I focus on LAN games, with the prize being free time.  It is a lot more light hearted and fun.

I'm pretty sure anyone that you have up at your LAN claiming they're "pro" is more than likely in the 12-14 range and pubs in bad tdm's barely dropping any good scores.

 

As for the "fun" factor, I have heaps of fun playing competitively. Only time I'll complain is when pings spike to 300+ for no apparent reason. But hey, COD4's latency system has been fixed somewhat compared to COD1 and COD2, its either that or the pc I'm on is piece of crap with 50 fps at best. But since most LAN centers I goto get anywhere from 100 - 125 fps I'm happy.

Anyone that blames there loss on bad equipment should realize that playing competitively on PC's not equipped to handle the game and all its potential should not play in the first place. If you don't like the mouse at the center bring your own, if you don't like the center's pc's bring your own, same goes for anything else. Only thing that will hold you back is the center itself if they do not allow it.

 

Oh and as for the "fun" factor again. The fun gets whipped when people cheat/exploit at the game. When there is a cheater on a team it makes the fun for the cheaters teammates and the team they are facing drop. It also takes the fun when you yourself as a gamer goto a lancenter AND CHEAT. WHAT IN THE HELL COULD YOU BE SMOKING TO THINK OF THAT. Its the most pathetic thing other than this country's government, but thats another argument probably not best to be on these forums. But anyway, if you are an owner of a center and you give these players cheats, you are the biggest idiot that this planet has ever seen. Same goes for if you're completely unaware and had no idea that the team playing under YOUR center's name is cheating. Its just all idiotic to me.

Oh and being accused of cheating isn't fun either, so don't accuse unless you have a pbss or and EXTREMELY blatant demo, otherwise stfu.

but um yea dawgs is good they play so much ya know ....Azn we play 2 times a week none of us have this game at home but ill tell you we will be practicing all weekend and we will hopefully mass own in playoffs  team dawgs your no doubt good at the game but im not trying to be mean or anything but you say we were complaing which we were cause we did bad 1 cause for real never played that map as a team i thoguht we were playing crossfire so i played that map....but when you guys lost you blamed it on ping both times and didnt stop... but o well the past is the past look to the future owning of all the teams.

and ummm i was going to say something else but let me think real quick........o yea i was readin the money thing right if there is only 1 tier getting money how come first place only gets 500? theres 4 teams in the playoffs only?

as for not playing much. no one on the team accept me and my brother (Jordan/doomz) have the game at home on the pc or are even really any good at it. We have two maybe, three if one of our guys and make it, decent players not counting me or my brother. Only one other person on the team has the game at home and he's only been here for the matches like twice i think. We literally do not strat or play with each other until Tuesday at 4o'clock pm.
