What to avoid when starting your gaming center...

So I don't like to tell people this but we did use a company called Stuff about Games over 3 years ago to start our center, unfortunately we mistakenly thought iGames was for established centers and not ones trying to open so we signed up for iGames after we opened and found out what a mistake we had made.

I have been contacted by numerous people regarding this company and I want to openly tell anyone who used them that I am obviously very familiar with how they set up the network so if you need help I will try to help you the best I can.

I want to openly tell anyone who is looking to start a center that I advise against them.  Not everything they did for us was legit and you end up spending all that money on their consulting fee and paying for the pcs they set up for you to find out you are not fully licensed, etc.  Also everything they help you with you can get right here in theprivate member center forums or on the internet for free if you want to do the work yourself.

The founder of the company is a nice guy but I don't see the ROI for what we paid to use this service.

Also there are some centers who used them that are working with their lawyers to sue for breach of contract.

I see what you mean.  Dunno if its because i'm poor or cheap but I would never ask anyone to start a business for me.

For anyone who wants to start a GC I would say first of all do you have technical skills to build and maintain computers? or will you hire someone who does?  If you answer no to these questions you'd be better opening something else :)

Plus you don't need the best gaming machines ever, you don't need the biggest location, you don't need a "valet" at the door welcoming people :P

All GCs I have visited in the area are small places with 10 PCs or so and 2-3 consoles and the guys are having a wonderful time and their bills get paid every month.

WoW, I was looking at them to help me start a center. Not too many people to help and then I found iGames while looking up centers and followed the link. Am going to spend the whole 150 to see what the real deal is. Went and scouted some places and one was going out of business that day one was dead and one was doing very well. Thank you for posting about these guys. You may very well be my new best friend.
