Revised Playoff Plan & Schedule:

Following a review of the current rankings and potential alternative rankings, certain players have a legitimate claim to be entered directly into the playoffs, and others players have a legitimate claim to have the chance to compete through a qualifying system. The most fair resolution is to allow all such players to have those outcomes.

---

The following six players will advance automatically to the Playoffs. Playoffs will begin Thursday, October 25 at 7:15 PM Eastern.

1. Novnia from Toledo Gaming Center
2. [GG]Cyclops from Galaxy Games
3. KingsRevenge from Lantastic Extreme
4. PalmOne from Redhammers
5. bucket-man from Game Cafe
6. Inglix from Redhammers

Playoff players are guaranteed to finish with at least $350.00 CASH, and possibly more depending on final placement.

The Playoff bracket is posted at: http://www.cevo.com/playoffs/bracket.php?id=191

---

The following eight players will have the opportunity to acquire one of the final 2 Playoff slots by advancing through the Playoff Qualifier. The Playoff Qualifier will begin Thursday, October 18 at 7:15 PM Eastern.

FenixSolen from Galaxy Games
Timeishell from Vertigo Game Center
[GG]HiveMind from Galaxy Games
TANKER from Game Cafe
Suicidale from Twisted Zen
AtomicBurn from Galaxy LAN
Fantazm from Galaxy LAN
kooljay2 from LANslide

If any players do not make it to the Playoff Qualifier in time for their scheduled match(es), they will simply be forfeited. Slots will not be allocated to the next available player(s).

The Playoff Qualifier bracket is posted at: http://www.cevo.com/playoffs/bracket.php?id=190

---

To accommodate the new plan and schedule, we will need an extra week or two of play. However, we as before, we will make every effort to play matches ahead of schedule.

--

For any questions, concerns, or thoughts, please do not hesitate to contact Wayne Ferguson - Wayne(AT)iGames.org or (650) 917-9888 x. 219

Thank you sincerely for your understanding and cooperation as we remedy the situation.

I am very disappointed to announce that...

Three of the finalists in this event have been caught playing from home, which is expressly against the rules. The three individuals have admitted to pretending to be playing the center.

The three are:

Homan 'RonPaul' Leung
Nicholas 'Snyden' Snyder
Keith 'WlNTER' Seidel

All three are now disqualified. We will be announcing a remedy here shortly.

The playoffs will be go on next week, and all prizes will continue to be awarded.

Thank you sincerely for your patience.

Failure to Connect During Playoff Qualifier and Playoffs

If we encounter 'failure to connect' issues during the Playoff Qualifier or Playoffs, we will proceed with the following solutions, in order:

#1 - The player that failed to join will try to host.

If that fails...

#2 - An iGames representative will host the match and both players will connect. If successful, the iGames representative will remove himself/herself so as not to interfere with match play.

If that fails...

#3 - We will look to the head-to-head match history between both players. The player with the most matches won will be the one to advance.

If it is a tie...

#4 - We will look to see which player had the higher playoff seed and that player will be the one to advance.

--

We will not swap seeds or otherwise move teams out of their proper place in any of the brackets.

All players who advance to the Playoffs will earn their corresponding prizes, regardless of whether or not they can connect during Playoffs. In other words, all players who advance to the Playoffs will have won at least $350.00 cash.

--

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we do everything we can to arrive at fair solutions to technical problems.

Results from Week 8 on Ambush Pass

After a full eight weeks of intense head-to-head action, the regular season is now complete! We have awarded $1,400 in cash prizes so far, and now look forward to the Playoffs which will giveaway another $8,600 worth of cash and prizes.

All those who showed up for the final week have been very well rewarded with increased ranking points. Included among them is Tim 'Novnia' Samuelson from Toledo Gaming Center in Ohio, who has moved all the way up from 6th place to 1st overall.

Even better off is Brad '[GG]Hivemind' Newton, who squeezed up from 13th to 12th, earning the final spot in next week's Playoff Qualifier. Meanwhile, Homan 'RonPaul' Leung, who did not play on Ambush Pass, has slipped from 4th to 5th and will now have to prove he deserves a spot through the Playoff Qualifier.

As always, go to the Standings page to see where you are ranked.

To all of you who are not advancing to the Playoff Qualifier or Playoffs, we sincerely thank you for participating. We hope you had a great time and would greatly appreciate any and all feedback you have about our events. What did you like? What did you dislike? We want to learn from you, so please get in touch. You can reach the Events Department through e-mail: Events(AT)iGames.org. --

The last and final winner of the weekly $100 participation drawing is Gary 'Water2ice' Winter from Redhammers Gaming and Collectibles. Congratulations Gary! Gary may not have won very many matches or advanced to the playoffs, but is nonetheless walking away a big winner just for trying. Thank you for being such a great sport Gary, you are a deserving winner!

Results from Week 7 on Blasted Rock

We have been counting down the season and now only one more week remains before the Playoff Qualifier and then the Playoffs. Standings are critical as players ranked 1-4 will get a one week break and automatically advance to Playoffs, while players ranked 5-12 will have to compete in a special Playoff Qualifier to earn one of the other 4 playoff spots.

As of the end of Week 7, the standings are:

Top 4

1 - WlNTER @ GAMEBREAKERZ
2 - [GG]Cyclops @ Galaxy Games
3 - RonPaul @ GAMEBREAKERZ
4 - KingsRevenge @ LantasticExtreme

Ranks 5-12

5 - PalmOne @ Redhammers Gaming & Collectables
6 - Novnia @ Toledo Gaming Center
7 - Timeishell @ Vertigo Game Center
8 - snyden @ GAMEBREAKERZ
9 - FenixSolen @ Galaxy Games
10 - TANKER @ Game Café
11 - bucket-man @ Game Café
12 - Inglix @ Redhammers Gaming & Collectables

Just Outside Top 12

13 - [GG]Hivemind @ Galaxy Games
14 - Suicidale @ Twisted Zen
15 - Fantazm @ GALAXY LAN Center
16 - kooljay2 @ LANslide

The question is - where will you stand? Next week is Ambush Pass. As we come down to the end, every match counts more than ever. Anyone can get a lot of matches done quickly or secure an upset against a top player will jump up in the rankings. --

As you should already know, each week Intel is supporting the drawing of $100 to one of last week's participating players. The winner of the Week 7 drawing is Timothy Samuelson from Toledo Gaming Center. Congratulations Timothy!

Results from Week 6 on Sentry Point

Only two more weeks are remaining in the season and the standings are very close at the top of the ladder and farther down.

Anyone in the top 7 is in striking range of getting one of the top 4 guaranteed playoffs spots. Who will get them will probably depend on who plays the most in the coming weeks. Former top 2 players WNTER and Snyden from Gamebreakerz have dropped to 5th and 7th respectively after missing last week's action. That is good news for Kings Revenge, Cyclops, Novnia and Palm One who are all on the up and up.

Players ranked 5 through 12 will advance to the Playoff Qualifier, where they will need to prove themselves in scheduled matches against the other top players. Players currently ranked 9 through 14 will have to fight hard in the coming weeks to even have that chance.

Go to the standings page now to see where you rank! If you are on the brink, practice extra hard on Blasted Rock and Ambush Pass, which are the remaining two maps of the season.

--

Congratulations to Josh Allen from Game Cafe in Brooklin, Ontario, Canada. You are the winner of the weekly $100 participation drawing thanks to Intel. We hope you spend it wisely! ;)

Results from Thursday, September 6th on Sludge

Playoffs are quickly approaching! With only two weeks of results yet to come, standings are becoming extra important. Players ranked 1st to 4th will automatically advance to playoffs. Players ranked 5th to 12th will need to earn their spot through a special Playoff Qualifier.

Players from GAMEBREAKERZ still represent 1st and 2nd place on the ladder, but its not the same two players. Homan 'RonPaul' Leung has stormed up to 1st place overall and is the only undefeated player in the top 25. Following, nearly 500 points behind, is the former leader Keith 'WlNTER' Seidel from GAMEBREAKERZ. If the season were ending today, the two other players to round off the top 4 guaranteed playoff slots would be Eric 'KingsRevenge' Wright from Lantastic Extreme and Nick 'snyder' Snyder from GAMEBREAKERZ.

Where the action is most tight however, is farther down the ladder. Only 110 points separates #10 'Suicidale' from Twisted Zen and #17 'Fantazm' GalaxyLAN. All these players will need to play hard to get a slot in the Playoff Qualifier.

Check out the full standings and match history! --

The winner of this week's $100 cash drawing is Tom Bjorklund from Citadel Games in Brainerd, MN. Congratulations to you for winning and special thanks to Intel for making it possible.

2nd - Max Kaftanati @ Galaxy LAN: $150.00

And we had a three way tie for fourth, so the winnings for fourth and fifth have been combined and split evenly between:

Results from Thursday, August 23rd on Theta Passage

We have now completed half of the season and while there are two clear front-runners, the rest of the competition remains very close. Keith 'WlNTER' Seidel and Nick Snyder, both from GAMEBREAKERZ (Kent, WA) remain in 1st and 2nd place respectively. Keith 'WlNTER' Seidel has extended his undefeated streak to 19-0 including a win over Nick Snyder. Both these leaders have over 1200 points in the standings, while 3rd place Eric 'KingsRevenge' Wright sits at 663 points. Less than 100 points separates positions 3rd through 8th.

The winner of the weekly $100 drawing is Reggie 'kooljay' Kemp from LANSlide in Clinton, MD. The lucky prize, courtesy of Intel, should help sooth Reggie's drop in the standings from 1st to 10th over the past two weeks.

For the full list of Match Results and the latest Standings, following along the navigation of this Mini-Site.

Next week we are taking a break from the regular action to bring you a special Mod Night with $600 in cash prizes up for grabs! Read all about it on the Mod Night page of the Mini-Site.

Monday, August 20, 2007

Results from Thursday, August 16th on Four Corners

Watch out for Aeon rushes! Aeon rushes were all the rage this week which, together with even more new players, made for a record number of matches! Among the newcomers was Nicholas 'snyder' Snyder from Gamebreakerz who accumulated 11 quick wins in a row, storming all the way to 2nd place in the standings. Meanwhile, also at Gamebreakerz, Keith 'WlNTER' Seidel extended his undefeated streak to 12-0 and took over the coveted 1st place spot. Just to show how quickly things can turn around, Reggie 'kooljay' Kemp from LANSlide dropped all the way to 11th place after several losses. If you have not participated yet, this should prove that it is not too late to get involved!

Courtesy of Intel, this week's lucky random drawing winner is Nicholas Acre from GameCafe in Brooklin, Ontario, Canada. Nicholas has won $100 Simply for participating in Xtreme Quest Supreme Commander Presented by Intel.

For the full list of Match Results and the latest Standings, following along the navigation of this Mini-Site.

See you next week, and remember - prepare for Aeon rushes!

Wednesday, August 15, 2007

Mod Night On Thursday August 30th we will be having Mod Night with $600 in prizes up for grabs. We want to relax, have a little fun, and deviate from the norm, by having some original Mods.

Please send in your suggestions! We want to know which Mod(s) you would like to see played on Mod Night. Ideally the Mod(s) should be suitable for head-to-head play (1v1) and stable enough for competition. E-mail your thoughts to Wayne(AT)iGames.org.

Thank you!

Friday, August 10, 2007

Results from Thursday, August 9th on Winter Duel

Action ramped up on Winter Duel with even more players and matches played than the previous week. Twisted Zen (Sasche, TX) tied Galaxy Games (Buford, GA) for most participation with 6 gamers each. The most active players however, were Trevor 'PalmOne' Schmidt from Redhammers (Appleton, WI) and Homan 'RonPaul' Leung from Gamebreakerz (Kent, WA).

Still leading the Ladder this week is Reggie 'kooljay2' Kemp from LANslide (Clinton, MD), however he is no longer undefeated as he suffered losses to each Devon 'ShWakUp' Smith from Toledo Gaming Center (Holland, OH) and Homan 'RonPaul' Leung from Gamebreakerz (Kent, WA). Will Reggie hold on to the lead next week? You will have to check back here then to find out!

Congratulations to Eric 'Erichbob' Froehlich from The Digital Nexus (Brick, NJ). Eric is the lucky winner this week of the $100 CASH drawing just for participating. As was the case with last week's winner, Eric did not win any of his matches but he is still walking away a big winner just for giving it a try.

For the full list of results check out the Match History page. To see where everyone is currently ranking see the Standings page.

To close out this week's rap up, we send another special thank you out to Intel who was so courteous to sponsor the event with $10,000 in cash and prizes! The next time you make a system upgrade remember which companies have been so generous in giving back to the gaming community.

Congratulations to Jon Garrett from Twisted Zen, the winner of the weekly $100 CASH drawing just for participating.
